Acupuncture
What is Acupuncture and where does it come from?
Acupuncture is a form of complementary and alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). According to the TCM the organism as a whole, contains a mesh-work of channels (meridians) in which energy flows. If the meridians are blocked, the energy of life, the āQiā, is disturbed and disequilibrium results in the organic system. This disequilibrium can produce physical and psychological symptoms which are followed by illnesses.
How does acupuncture work?
With the help of acupuncture needles are placed at certain points along the meridians so that they are stimulated. Blockages are removed and the energy flow comes back into balance. The body's natural self-healing power is effectively activated. Disorders of the body are removed and healed. The advantage of acupuncture is that the healing process is effective and practically free from side effects.
When is acupuncture useful?
Success can be achieved for orthopaedic illness such as discomfort, inflammation, joint, muscle, tendon, ligament and spinal pain. Likewise acupuncture helps with disorders of the sensibility and mobility and debility. Acupuncture can be added perfectly to academic medicine.
